Customer Video: Vegan Beauty Products review from Wild Ginger ...
How awesome is this? One of my favorite and loyal customers, Kate, made this fabulous review video of her Wild Ginger Apothecary must-haves.
I can't stress it enough - getting to know my fantastic customers (who become friends) is the greatest part of the job!
Have a wonderful day!
xx

So long, aches + pains: Moksa Muscle Rub
Years ago, following a serious broken arm, I'd step into the physical therapist's and the highlight was the tingling magic of Biofreeze. I'll spare the gnarly slash awesome x-ray pic. It was medical professionals after all, so this product couldn't be dangerous! Fast forward to years of product knowledge: this fast pain fix contained parabens, artificial colors, propylene glycol, and more.
What else can you do for those arthritic pains, sports injuries, monthly cramps, backaches? Ice and heat aren't portable, and require patience in the time to apply. Biofreeze and Icy Hot (that one is even worse, check for yourself at EWG's Skin Deep database) contain plenty of ingredients you don't want in your bloodstream. Tiger Balm makes everyone in a mile radius smell that you're in pain. But I've found the best of both worlds for pain relief with a pleasant scent in Moksa's Muscle Rub.
This rub has the same light, yet hydrating, feel of their butter with organic essential oils and rosemary to penetrate just where you need the relief. After a big move and 9 hours on my feet each day at Wild Ginger Apothecary, my neck-ache/backache/sore legs are grateful for this... and no matter your pain issue, you'll be grateful too.
Bonus: double up with Moksa's Athletic Bar Soap post-workout (or post-injury). You'll feel the relief when you suds up with menthol and peppermint!
Available online at www.wildgingerapothecary.com or in-store at 6557 Superior Avenue in the Gulf Gate Shopping Village. Feel free to email or call anytime at 941.312.5630. ENJOY!

PRESS: SarasotaDay's "5 Essential Oils for Every Home"
Essential Oils are all the rage. Did you know that Wild Ginger Apothecary offers Certified Organic, Therapeutic-grade Essential Oils by Simplers? Their oils are sourced all over the world to ensure they are 100% pure, genuine, species specific, and expertly distilled. And no, you don't need to join a multi-level-marketing team to purchase them.
SarasotaDay recently featured some of our must-have essential oils (Lavender, Lemon, Tea Tree, Peppermint, and Eucalyptus). They also mentioned a few of our ready-to-go blends that take the guesswork out of aromatherapy. Check it out!

5 Essential Oils for Every Home
"Everyone’s digging on the essential oils these days, and who can blame them? They’re a safe and simple way to take care of your body and your home. Still, the lists of all the EOs and their many uses can be a bit daunting to anyone who is unfamiliar with this wonderful and mysterious world."Products are available online at www.wildgingerapothecary.com or in-store at 6557 Superior Avenue in the Gulf Gate Shopping Village. Beach Party: Little Barn Apothecary's Hair Texturizer
You know those days on the beach that you couldn't care less how you look? The sweaty, sandy relief found in those salt water swims... and the resulting beachy waves from throwing your hair up impulsively (only to to be washed out upon getting home).
I had a good beachy hair day once at home. For about an hour, on a day I wasn't going anywhere. Kind of like those days I take down my hair 'do and it looks amazing only for me to sleep on it. My paper straight, thin hair won't hold a curl, despite every extreme hair spray on the market (in my pre-natural guru / Wild Ginger Apothecary days). Creating textured waves was equally out of the question.
I tried a few dozen salt sprays (see also: chemical-filled styling products with a splash of salt), nothing safe and natural cut it. Until Little Barn Apothecary's Jasmine + Ocean Water Hair Texturizer. Spray it, scrunch it, braid it, let it go. It's the closest thing to a much needed beach day you can get on those 9-5 workdays... with ingredients as pure and basic as the sea itself.
Photo featuring Ashley of Adorella Arts. Her hair is naturally wavy, which is even better for this product. (Sadly, your straight hair will not look like that after spraying.) Check out some of her WGA pics here!

PRESS: Refinery29's "Beauty Apothecaries That Should Be On Your Radar"
The concept of Wild Ginger Apothecary has been over a decade in the works, reworking itself in a number of ways until resulting in everything I had ever dreamt of (just hadn't been able to pinpoint). One of the formative moments in the vision process was a visit to The Detox Market in San Francisco. It was a life changing experience and proof this life goal wasn't going to fade. The are eco-friendly heroes, setting the industry standard for the rest of us to aspire to.
You can imagine my enthusiasm and pride in being featured alongside my idols in Refinery29's Must See Apothecaries - 14 of their top spots throughout North America. We might just be a little fish in a big pond, but there's nowhere I'd rather swim.

"In constantly crowded, mass retail stores where employees are almost always juggling a few customers at a time, it's not easy to get a one-on-one experience. That's far from the case at WGA."More information online at www.wildgingerapothecary.com or in-store at 6557 Superior Avenue in the Gulf Gate Shopping Village. PRESS: Local Love Beer Soap Release
Teaming up with my buddies at JDub's Brewing Company wasn't just an excuse to hit my favorite local brewery. It was the perfect pairing to kick off the "Local Love" soap (and collaboration) series I've been brainstorming since Wild Ginger Apothecary was an empty storefront. Thanks to local soap guru's Lolablue, it resulted in a great artisan product. Natural, small-batch, creative, quirky: there's nothing quite like it in town, just like all of our businesses. And the minty scent is so crisp you'll find yourself wanting to wash up just to use it.
As seen in This Week In Sarasota:
"Wild Ginger Apothecary, a Gulf Gate-based alternative and holistic health-and-beauty product supplier, has teamed up with the brewery for its first release as part of its collaborative Local Love soap series. Handcrafted by Lolablue in North Port, the ginger-and-mint infused soap is made with JDub’s Poolside Kolsch instead of water..."

PRESS: Edible Sarasota's "Small Bites"
There's always the one magazine I can't recycle after reading: Edible Sarasota.
Full of all things amazing in Sarasota: from food and drink, to small business, to epic photography. Edible reads like a coffee table book that you can pick up again and again, yet still receive joy from. It was a wish come true and a huge compliment to be featured in their gorgeous magazine before even hitting our first year. They published a beautiful article about myself and Wild Ginger Apothecary, alongside some of the area's must-see spots... So now I have an even better reason to keep a copy around for years to come.

"Nicole believes that products should be sampled and tested before purchase and she always has fun goodies behind the counter such as morsels of spiced stone-ground chocolate or a top-selling natural deodorant or tiny vials of serum from the skincare line that she swears by. Nicole prides herself on weaning people off of chemically enhanced and animal-tested products by introducing them to natural alternatives that are just as, if not more, effective than their toxic counterparts."
